"Billing was clear, but I felt brushed off"
The billing itself was straightforward, and there weren’t any surprise charges. The invoice matched what I expected and was easy enough to understand. That said, when I had a question about it, I kind of felt dismissed instead of getting a real explanation.

"Slow and kind of annoying sometimes"
issuu is okay when it actually works right, like the pages can look nice and everything. But for me the site is slow a lot of the time, and waiting for stuff to load gets old fast. The reader also freezes sometimes or jumps to weird places, which is just not fun to deal with. Uploading things has been a bit clunky too, not smooth feeling. It is not completely bad or useless, but with the price being what it is, I was expecting it to work better than this

"Handy even with the free plan limits"
I had a feeling the free plan would be a bit limited, and yeah, it is, but it still works well. The limits seem fair to me, and for basic use it’s been handy enough

"Pretty solid way to make a little money from magazines"
Getting set up to monetize was way easier than I expected. I thought it might turn into some huge complicated thing, but it was painless and didn’t take forever. For anyone working with magazines, it’s a nice little way to bring in some extra earnings without jumping through a million hoops.

"Embedding my magazines was really easy"
I’ve been using issuu mainly to put our catalog on our website, the embed part was painless. I just copied the code, dropped it onto the page, and… that was basically it. Took maybe a few minutes total.
It looks nice on desktop and on my phone too, which was a relief. I didn’t have to dig through a bunch of settings or anything. There was one small sizing issue at first, but I fixed it quickly. Overall, I’m happy with how smooth it was

"Publishing works, but could be smoother"
I use Issuu to upload and share a small magazine, and for the most part it gets the job done. Uploading files usually works fine, and the basic publishing process is easy once you know where everything is. Some parts just feel a little tucked away or take more clicks than they probably need to, if that makes sense.
Making edits after something is already published can be a bit frustrating, especially when it’s just a tiny change I want to fix quickly. It’s not a bad platform by any means, but the workflow could definitely feel smoother. Overall, it works, but I wouldn’t call it amazing

"Issuu is fine for uploading and sharing..."
Issuu is fine for uploading and sharing documents, and I can see why some people like it. But for me, the customization side was underwhelming. I’m probably a bit picky about branding, but I wanted more control over how the viewer looks on my site, things like colors, buttons, layout, that kind of stuff. It just felt more limited than I expected unless you’re willing to mess around with workarounds. A few of the settings also weren’t super obvious to me. For the price, I personally expected more flexibility. It’s not a bad tool, but if you care a lot about how everything looks and fits your brand, it might be frustrating.

"Looks great on screen"
It looks really clean on the screen and is easy to read, which is what you’d expect and need for everyday use

"I uploaded a few PDF documents to..."
I uploaded a few PDF documents to Issuu, i was expecting at least a couple of formatting issues because that’s usually what happens with these kinds of tools.

But the pages came out sharp, the fonts stayed normal, and the images looked really close to my original files. I’ve used other sites where the spacing gets messed up or things shift around, so this was a nice surprise.

The whole process was quick too. I didn’t need anything fancy, just a clean conversion, and it did exactly what I hoped it would.

"Super easy to share stuff"
Sharing my stuff has been effortless. Links send quickly, and there’s no weird extra hassle or confusing steps. It just kind of works.

"I tried using the lead gen tools they..."
I tried using the lead gen tools they just didn’t do much for us!! The forms felt kinda clunky, the leads we got weren’t great quality, and getting everything set up took way longer than I expected!!! Support was also slow to respond, which made it even more frustrating!! For what we paid, I really don’t think it was worth it!!!

"Branding options are okay, just okay"
Issuu is fine for uploading and sharing documents, and it pretty much does what we need it to do. The branding control is where I got a little frustrated, though. I wanted everything to feel more like our own site, but unless you pay more, there’s still some Issuu branding here and there. It’s not bad, not bad at all, just not as flexible as I was hoping. For basic sharing, it works.

"Privacy controls are simple to figure out"
I like how easy it is to spot the pattern with the privacy settings here. I can quickly tell who’s able to see my uploads, and changing things doesn’t feel buried in some random menu. I made a few magazines private while I was testing them out, then switched them public later without any hassle. Overall, it feels straightforward and secure enough for the work-related stuff I’m posting.

"Recent analytics left me underwhelmed"
I tried Issuu recently mainly because I wanted better analytics, and that’s the part that stuck with me the most. The publishing side was fine, but when I went to check how people were actually engaging, it felt more basic than I expected.
You can see views and reads, but once I tried comparing it with my own links and campaigns, things got a little muddy. Some of the numbers didn’t quite line up with what I thought I was seeing elsewhere, and the dashboard didn’t make it easy to figure out why.

Maybe there’s more to it that I missed, but based on my latest experience, the insights just didn’t feel strong enough for the price. It’s not useless, but since the analytics were the main reason I signed up, I came away disappointed

"Works well, but the pricing is a little frustrating"
I used Issuu for a small project to share a digital magazine/PDF, and to be fair, it did the job well. The setup was simple enough, everything looked clean, and I didn’t run into any major technical problems.
That said, the pricing felt a bit hard to justify for what I needed. It’s fine if you’re using it constantly, but some features I assumed would be included were locked behind higher plans, which was politely speaking, annoying.

"Issuu is fine for uploading and sharing documents..."
Issuu is fine for uploading and sharing documents, but my magazines hardly show up in google search results. i was expecting better visibility, especially after taking the time to set everything up, so it’s been a bit disappointing.

"Pretty easy to browse, with a few rough edges"
I was able to find magazines and guides quickly, and the search actually worked better than I expected. It’s also nice if you just want to browse random topics and see what comes up. That said, it’s not perfect, some results still feel a little hit or miss, and I wish the browsing was a bit more organized. Overall though, it’s been easy to use

"I upload magazines regularly, it’s..."
I upload magazines regularly, it’s always worked well for me. From my experience, it feels reliable and easy enough that I don’t have to think much about it, which saves me a good bit of time. No real complaints so far

"Looks nice, but I felt like just another ticket number"
Issuu has a polished look, but trying to upload and tweak a simple document was way more frustrating than it needed to be. I kept getting lost in the dashboard, and some of the buttons weren’t obvious at all. It did eventually work, but it took so many extra clicks that I started feeling less like a user and more like a ticket number getting pushed through the system

"Works well, but why are the integrations so limited?"
Issuu has been good for uploading and sharing documents, embedding stuff on our website was straightforward. But when it came to connecting it with the other tools we already use? That’s where it felt a little clunky. I kept thinking, shouldn’t there be more direct integration options by now? Instead, we had to rely on a few workarounds, which wasn’t ideal. It’s definitely not a bad platform, but for teams juggling multiple tools, wouldn’t a little more flexibility make a big difference?

Issuu Q&A

My account is not linked correctly...All my publications are missing

How long does it take for you to answer an open ticket regarding billing refund?

JoannPhillips

“I got an answer from the company in less than 24 hours and they said a full refund is going to be made within 7 - 10 business days in my account.”

When I go to "embed on website" feature, it just sends me back to the publications page and does not create an embed code. No one at customer service

No one gets back from customer service. Tickets can't be created - when I input info & hit submit it just whirls round and never completes submission.

How are you able to commit fraud against so many people and still manage to stay in business. On Feb.27,2019 your company stole $420.00 from me
